Everyone in Parañaque stood ready with seeds, trowels and containers as the Save The Children, Kraft Food Philippines and the City Government of Parañaque launched the Urban Vegetable Planting Contest on Monday, July 12, 2010. Dubbed as “Magtanim ng gulay, giginhawa ang buhay!  Sa bawat aanihin, wagi ang kakamtin!”, the project aims to make people learn the importance of planting and introduce endless possibilities that comes from planting crops in backyards, schools and other open spaces.  Photo shows Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. (right) during the ceremonial turnover of the seeds to a community representative.  Also in the photo (R-L) are Mayor Jun Bernabe, Save the Children Director of Program Implementation and Management, Dr.Joseph Michael Singh , City Agriculture Office Head, Ms Fe Ferolino and City Health Officer Dr. Olga Virtusio.
