PARAÑAQUE City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr.’s anti-crime campaign got a big boost as police operatives of the city’s Community Precinct No. 4 apprehended last January 4 two notorious hold-up suspects who have been preying on commuters and passers-by at the Lopez Area in Brgy. San Isidro, this city.

The success of the follow-up operation was attributed to the prior surveillance and intelligence work of PCP4 Commander Abraham Gabuna, Jr., SPO2 Carlito Nobleza, PO3 Marvin Buemio, PO3 Dennis Frivaldo, PO3 Allan Darang, PO2 Lenard Lasic and PO1 Joseph Navigar which led to the capture of suspects Arnel Valenzuela 22 years old, single and a resident of no. 90 Lopez Avenue, Brgy. San Isidro and Lojie Estudillo a.k.a. “Ringo”, 19 years old, single and resident of Purok 4, Silverio Compound, Brgy. San Isidro.

The Parañaque PNP launched the manhunt after receiving two separate complaints filed by the latest victims identified as Jeffrie Rayala and Jesse Tumlos. Rayala was held at knife point by the suspects on January 3, at 1 a.m. at Lopez St. in Brgy. San Isidro and was divested of his cellphone and P7,000 in the heist. Tumlos on the other hand was mauled by three suspects who took his mobile phone, MP4 Ipod and P3,000 cash also in the said area.

The ensuing operation resulted to the capture of the two suspects who were positively identified by the victims. The police operatives were also able to retrieve the IPod MP4 taken from Tumlos.

A case of robbery hold up was filed at the Parañaque City Prosecutors Office against Valenzuela while two cases of robbery hold up was filed by inquest proceedings against Estudillo. Their cohorts who remain at-large were identified and had cases filed against them.

“The immediate apprehension of the suspects by the police operatives of the Parañaque PNP, particularly those of Precinct 4, reflects the tough stance that the city is taking to combat criminality. I commend the local police for its crime-solving efficiency, dedication to duty, resolve to protect our citizens and maintain peace and order.” Mayor Bernabe said. (Public Information Office)
