Creek Clean-Up Held in Brgy. Moonwalk 2
Categories: bignews, Project Updates

City and barangay officials lead volunteers in cleaning a creek in Brgy, Moonwalk in Parañaque during the Earth Day celebrations in the city. The clean-up aims to rid streams of garbage that serve as breeding sites of mosquitoes as they impede water flow causing floods in the process. This step is also designed to prevent garbage from getting swept towards the river and ultimately to the sea. In photo (L-R) Moonwalk Brgy. Capt. Hello!
Whoever dirties the waterways, creeks, rivers, seas should be given the task of cleaning them. Citizens who live near waterways should be told in no uncertain terms that our waterways are not toilet bowls. Fine them, jail them or both, or make them clean up all the waterways under strict supervision, day in day out. That’s the only way to keep all waterways clean and free of sold waste.

Also, please put signs where everyone can see not to use the waterways as their bathrooms. Besides, they are endangering their health by swimming in filthy rivers, creeks, seas, streams. Laws must be obeyed, if there are such laws prohibiting citizens from jumping into waterways…when they get really sick, who pays for the hospitalization? Prevention is better than cure.
