Over a thousand job seekers thronged the 17th Jun Bernabe Overseas Job Fair, organized by Parañaque Livelihood Resource Management Office at the SM City Sucat Parañaque on May 31, 2008.

The Philippine Association of Service Exporters Inc., (PASEI) one of the biggest overseas service providers of the country sponsored the event by bringing together more than 40 licensed agencies all offered various work opportunities from domestic helper to skills-required jobs.

Parañaque City Mayor Jun Bernabe expressed great satisfaction over the success of the said fair.” PASEI has been in the forefront of providing job opportunities to the Filipinos by bringing career opportunities closer to jobseekers. And we are fortunate for having them sponsor our 17th job fair.” He said

PASEI President Victor Fernandez in his opening speech vowed to support the city in terms of job employment by continuing to sponsor the city’s job fairs. PASEI has over 700 accredited agencies operating in the country.

The mayor also thanked SM City Executive Jimmy Lim Sy for providing the venue of the job fair which all the more made it a tremendous success.

“ There was a huge turn out of jobseekers and agencies owing to the strategic location and convenience of the venue.” Bernabe said

The 17th Jun Bernabe job fair was held at 3rd floor Building B of SM City Mall, fully air-conditioned and accessible to the public.

Meanwhile PLRMO Head Doris Marquez said that Parañaque has just upgraded its skills training facilities as per TESDA requirements making the city a haven of competent, highly skilled workers. (Rebecca Padrones)
