At least four thousand job applicants trooped to the Parking Lot of the City Hall of Parañaque February 15 Friday as Parañaque Livelihood Resource Management Office (PLRMO) organized the 17th Parañaque City Job Fair in celebration of the 10th Cityhood of Parañaque.
Mayor Jun Bernabe expressed his great satisfaction over the success of the said job fair. “ PLRMO has been in the forefront of providing job opportunities to the people of the city by bringing career opportunities closer to job seekers. We will continue to promote employment and provide decent work for all.”
Meanwhile PLRMO Head Doris Marquez said that seventy –seven (77) companies participated in the fair, the biggest of which are SM Bicutan, Sucat, Makati and Mall of Asia. Various call center agencies, clothing lines and food chains also joined in the event.
“What’s different with our job fair is that, those who were not lucky to be hired we encouraged them to take up our skills training at the PLRMO office. They can either end up as self-employed or they are better equipped with skills the next time they apply for a job.” Marquez explained.
At least 136 positions were offered in the 17th job fair, which includes Medical Transcriptionist, Business Control Analyst, Editor Support Agent, Costumer Care Representative, HR Clerk, Maintenance Supervisor, Customer Relation Staff, Counter Dispatcher, Software Engineer, Bagger, Sales Utility Clerk, Branch Accountant, Janitor, Automotive Technicians and Office Staff among others.
Marquez also announced that the PLRMO is now conducting trainings for call center agents. (by: Rebecca N. Padrones)
